Savona's Marathon

If a skater has to choose which marathon should he race in Italy during the season, it has to be this one. On very smooth asphalt, passing by some of the most astounding sites of the lovely Riviera Ligure, the course has not only great views to offer: it boast also a couple of unforgiving slopes (the second one with a 10% inclination), followed by their nerve-wrecking downhills. Have a look at this photo album >>

Good prizes, great organization (something so rare in Italy), decent rates and an all-round good vibe, sum up to make this an unmissable end-of-season event.
Incidentally, this year the marathon happens to be also the European Masters Championship... Not that we care much about it, since all these italian driven "masters" events have a suspicious stink around them. In fact, the race is open to everybody, even those younger than 30 years... as long as they're capable of skating the distance in less than 2 hours, otherwise they' ll be shot on the spot. Nevertheless, on October 8th 2006. give this race a chance: we can guarantee 100% satisfaction!
