Las Américas

PLAYA DE LAS AMERICAS & COSTA ADEJE

These two holiday resorts are located along the Adeje and Arona coasts. The borough of Adeje includes resorts like Playa del Duque, Fañabé, Torviscas and the original resort of Playa de las Americas. Works have been carried out along the coast to create new sandy beaches like Torviscas and Playa del Bobo.
Puerto Colon, a yacht marina and starting point for many sea bound leisure and fishing trips, is in the resort of San Eugenio.

The next beach along is Playa del Bobo, where there is a windsurf and sailing school that rents out boards dinghies and catamarans. The climate is dry and sunny throughout most of the year. Be careful and use cream to protect yourself against the sun!
The boundary between the boroughs of Adeje and Arona is the Barranco del Rey ravine.
There are several beaches of golden sands in this area, such as Las Cuevitas and the Troya beaches, very popular with their dry sunny climate.
There are changing rooms and showers and a Tourist Information Office, and many bars, restaurants and terraces along the pedestrian sea front walk that runs along this section of coast. You can rent sun beds, pedaloes and other leisure craft and wet bikes.
Many water sports are available such as paracending, speed boats, etc. and there are several diving clubs in the area. There is one section of the coast which is also good for surfing.
The coast between Playa de las Americas (Playas de Troya) and Los Cristianos harbour also has some fine beaches of golden sands, such as Las Caletillas and El Camisón, on the coast opposite the Parque Santiago III apartments an the Sir Anthony Hotel.
After El Camisón point, you come to Las Vistas beach, a newly made beach about 2 kilometres long. You can rent sun beds, pedaloes and wet bikes on these beaches, and there are many bars and restaurants nearby.
